A Blackburn fight club coach has praised his members for their ‘world beating’ displays.

The TMT Harwood Solicitors Fight Club rounded off 2023 with a series of impressive results in kickboxing tournaments.

Coach Tibor Toth Miklai said: “Blackburn can be proud to have not just national but amateur European and world champions.

“It was a long year and we participated in numerous fights where the team did fantastic.”

At an awards ceremony in Barnsley in December, rising stars Eesa Lodhi and Daniel Patel were honoured. Igor Korrenojs landed the WKO Grand Prix award for Best Fighter of the Year. 

He came runners up in the British Open Championships and won the ICO British Open, one of four titles he clinched during an impressive season.

Jozef Racz won four national championships representing the club, whilst Richard Szileczki finished in second spot in the European, British and Scottish Opens.

Tibor added: “I’m very proud of the team already. This year we are planning to take more fighters to compete. I would like to thank all the parents for their cheering and support.

“In 2024 they would like to compete in many fights with the team including WFC’s Milano World championship in Italy.”
