Police have released CCTV footage of Blackpool man David Butterworth from the night he went missing.

David was last seen in the Preston New Road area, close to The Harbour, at 5.52pm on December 20.

Police say he then travelled along Grizedale Road, up a grassy embankment, before crossing Preston New Road onto Paddock Drive, shown in the video to be at around 7.11pm.

He then continued on Paddock Drive before joining Kipling Drive. This is his last recorded location.

Police say they are releasing the footage in the hope it could help the public come forward with more information.

David is 6'2", slim and has grey hair. He was last seen wearing grey joggers, black socks, black sliders with white stripes and long sleeve white t-shirt with motif on the front, possibly Lacoste.

They add that David can be seen carrying a bottle, and police are keen to speak to anyone who may have given David a drink or exchanged words with him as he went through the area.

Police are also asking people to check any outhouses, sheds, or allotments where David may have taken shelter during the bad weather.

A police spokesperson said: "If you believe you saw David on or after December 20, captured him on dashcam/CCTV or have any information that could help us find him, please contact us on 101 or email forcecontrolroom@lancashire.police.uk, quoting log 1284 of December 20, 2023.
