Police have issued a warning to drivers who may have had a drink or three on New Year's Eve.
Officers patrolling in Burnley are warning drivers about the dangers of being over the limit today (New Year's Day, January 1) after a man driving a Ford Kuga "almost crashed into a police vehicle".
Police claim the person driving the Kuga, pictured, nearly crashed with a patrol vehicle before he was stopped in Burnley town centre at around 11am, and blew a reading of 85, more than twice the the drink driving limit of 35.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Happy New Year.
"Well...perhaps not for the driver of this Kuga.
"Beware of the dangers of being over the drink drive limit the following day.
