With the end of the year fast approaching, here are the best places to welcome 2024 across East Lancs.

Blackburn

• For an action packed night, make your way to Mill Hill Working Men's Club on Moorgate Street. There will be a Money Draw, Joe’s 90s and bingo starting at 7pm on New Year's Eve. From 8.30pm, the vocal duo ’Metropolis’ are set to perform.

Darwen

• The Alexandra pub in Darwen will host a “black and white” themed event for the occasion. At 8pm, the place will be filled with sounds of karaoke, a DJ and a countdown into 2024. Entry is free with no tickets required.

• From 7.30 pm, Darwen’s Masonic Hall at Hawkshaw Suite will host a Soul and Motown party. Paul Stuart Davies and DJ Pog are set to play the £16 ticketed event, dubbed ‘ReSOULution’. Hot food is included with the price. Pre book in advance online.

• Fancy shaking off that New Year hangover? Darwen’s Walking Club has scheduled a New Year's Day walk, up to Darwen Moors to see the Darwen Tower. At 11am, the group will be setting off from Sunnyhurst Pub and non-members are welcome to attend.

Clayton Le Moors

• Count down to the New Year with Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa’s family party. Attendees can 'party the night away to top chart tunes and golden oldies'. The event, at the hotel on Blackburn Road in Clayton Le Moors, will run from 7pm until 1am, and includes drinks and a buffet. Prices start from £40 per child – aged three to 12, and £80 per adult, or £59 per child and £149 per adult, for overnight accommodation and breakfast included. Burnley

• Staff at the Craven Heifer will be spending New Year’s Eve hosting a free disco and buffet. This will begin at 7pm, on Briercliffe Road.

• For £10 per person, get ready to spend the night with Burnley’s own guitar duo, ‘The Dantones’. Hosted at The Walton on Burnley Road, the event is set to begin from 7pm, including a buffet, fireworks and a late bar. Tickets must be booked in advance.

• Join Burnley FC at their stadium for a night to remember. From £49.95, Turf Moor will transform into the ultimate party place. Including a three course meal, resident DJ and individual group seating, this promises to be one not to miss. Doors open at 7pm, with dinner served at 7.45pm and the disco warming up at 9pm. Ribble Valley

• Clitheroe’s Castle Museum has some budget family-friendly fun lined up on Sunday 31 December. The castle is free to enter, and activities are as follows: Winter strolls in the castle grounds; Exhibitions in the museum's labyrinthine galleries; Gnomes and their Homes competition hunt (museum admission charges); Happy New Year badge workshop (£1 - no booking required); Decorate a wooden animal keyring (£1.50 - no booking required); Medieval festive competition quiz (museum admission charges); Activity sheets and cosy reading corner; On Track: A Glimpse into Lancashire's Railways Past and Present (free exhibition in the Steward's Gallery).

Nelson

• Nelson’s Old Brass Band Club is hosting a dance night with artist Steve Hunter to bring in the New Year. This ticket only event, starting at 7.30pm, is priced at £4 for members, and £6 for non members.

• Raising money for Pendleside Hospice, Nelson Poultry Social Club has arranged local DJ, Anthony Davis play into 2024. For £5, a pie and pea supper will be provided to attendees, along with a late bar. There will be a raffle for the charity and non members are welcome. Taking place at The Gravel on Hibson Road, tickets must be booked in advance.

Accrington

• The Whitakers Arms will be hosting a free and family-friendly event to bring in the new year. Starting at 7pm, the night is to include: karaoke and disco, meat pie supper, kids buffet, and, as soon as the clock strikes midnight, a toast underneath the pub's firework display. Those interested can show up to 322 Burnley Road anytime before midnight.

• On Tuesday, January 2 there will be a Cacao Ceremony and Reiki Share at The Willow Tree Spiritual Centre. For £5, individuals will welcome positive and healing energy into the new chapters of their lives. Refreshments are included and this will run from 7pm to 9 pm.

Leyland

• From trees to tubs, to great food and drink, bring in 2024 whilst relaxing at the Farington Lodge Hotel. There will be a NYE buffet served at 8pm, with dancing until 1 pm, for £55 per person.
