Two men have been left seriously injured after the car they were travelling in crashed into a house and set on fire.
The fire also spread to the house.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and footage following the crash, which happened in St Annes.
Emergency services were called to Heyhouses Lane at 2.35am today (December 23) following reports a McLaren car had crashed into a lamppost and then a house.
Both the car and the house caught fire but the fires were quickly extinguished by firefighters.
The two male occupants of the car suffered a number of serious injuries and were taken to hospital, where they remain.
One is in a critical but stable condition and the second in a serious but stable condition.
Nobody in the house was injured.
Sgt Tom Malley, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “As a result of this collision two men are in hospital with serious injuries and my thoughts are with their loved ones at this time.
“Work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what led to the collision.
"I would ask any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage which captured the McLaren in the lead up to the collision to contact the police as soon as possible.”
