Winter had well and truly arrived at Blackburn’s Boulevard Boulevard when this photo was taken in the late 1950s.
But the intrepid bus drivers clearly didn’t let a spot of bad weather stop them as they left tracks in the slush to continue on their routes.
This was before the various bus shelters were built around the Boulevard. The large, flat-roofed shelter on the right dated to 1937.
