PUPILS at a Blackburn primary school got the chance to learn about democracy from the town's MP and are now set to visit Westminster to see it in action first hand.
Kate Hollern paid a visit to St Peter’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Mill Hill on Friday morning.
Its children are currently earning about democracy and the democratic process.
Mrs Hollern said: "I was delighted to attend St Peter's RC Primary School, Mill Hill, to meet with members of the school council.
"What a lovely group of young people!
"I was particularly impressed with the level of interest in my work and with the ideas that the members of the school council have for improving the local school environment and raising funds for this.
"The energy of the pupils, not to mention their polite attitude, is to be commended.
"During my visit I also talked about visiting Parliament.
" I hope to see pupils come down to London in the New Year."
