A new Indian restaurant serving “authentic Asian cuisine for affordable prices” has opened in Hyndburn.

The owner, Mohammed Rahman, of Rossendale, has opened the doors to Clayton-le-Moors’ new Indian restaurant, Kahaani Indian Brasserie on Whalley Road today (December 8).

Mohammed has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry as well as working for the fire service and police.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Sharing his excitement over his latest business venture, Mohammed said: “I’ve been in the industry for so long and it’s one of those things that has always been a calling for me.

"I love interacting with customers and being able to provide service that makes them smile. It’s a rewarding feeling so I’m looking forward to it.”

Formerly a Chinese restaurant, the venue underwent a transformative four month renovation to modernise the space while maintaining the industrial elements.

The venue, which was also once a working men’s club, showcases a blend of "rustic charm" with double ceilings, exposed AC units, and industrial elements, along with new luxurious fixtures and seating.

Mohammed said: "We viewed the place and had good bones about it. We want to provide somewhere a little bit nicer but not going to cost you the world to come and dine, good quality authentic food.”

The restaurant to offer a family-friendly dining experience with a focus on affordability.

To celebrate the grand opening, they're offering a 50 per cent discount on Friday and Saturday, with 2-for-1 offers during the week.

Sundays will feature a special three-course meal menu for £13 per person for families.

Mohammed shared his commitment to ensuring freshness by purchasing most items daily and sourcing food locally when possible.

The restaurant is also licensed, offering a broad selection of drinks, including wines, champagne, beers, and lagers.

Mohammed said: “We're trying to do something where people can come in, have a really good meal but be surprised when they get the bill because my aim isn’t just to run a business just for profit.

“I want to create a warm and inviting space for the community. I’m here to do a good job and let customers enjoy good, authentic meals without breaking the bank.”

Kahaani Indian Brasserie in Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors opens at 6pm today.
