A Blackburn Rovers fan who tragically lost his wife following a heart attack has raised £1,329 in her memory.
Ian, embarked on a fundraising journey to honour the memory of his late wife, Vera, who died in May last year. He said he wanted to thank to the dedicated healthcare teams who provided care and support by raising funds for ELHT&Me, the local NHS hospital charity.
In September, he took on the challenge of walking around the pitch at Ewood Park, 16 times.
During the Blackburn 10k event last weekend he raised £1,329 and presented the cheque to ELHT&Me and the deputy mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Sylvia Liddle.
Ian was described as an 'inspiration' by the club and supporters
Ian would like to thank Fogarty's Insurance, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, and everyone who provided him encouragement throughout this journey.
The day of the most recent challenge was a highly emotional day for Ian and his supporters, who said 'couldn't be prouder of his remarkable achievement'.
