National Highways has warned of delays on the M6 and M55 today – and we know why.
Lane three is closed on the M61 southbound, between junction 30 of the M6 and junction 9 of the M61.
This is for emergency barrier repairs.
There are long delays on the M6 southbound in Lancashire and the M55 eastbound.
According to AA Traffic and Travel, there are severe delays of 40 minutes on M6 southbound, between the M6 and junction 30 of the M61. Average speed on the road is 10 miles per hour.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “Lane three (of three) is closed on the M61 southbound between junction 30 of the M6 and junction nine of the M61, for emergency barrier repairs.
“There are long delays on the M6 southbound and the M55 eastbound on approach. Please allow extra time for your journey. Thank you for your patience.”
