Shocking pictures have emerged of the remains of a Lancaster building, where a huge fire broke out on Sunday, December 3.
Firefighters are still at the Port Royal Avenue site, which was formerly a SupaSkips site.
Drone images have emerged of rubble and smoke in the air.
Local people have been urged to keep their windows and doors closed if they can smell smoke.
Several road closures are in place, including Europa Way, and access to the industrial park is limited.
Fire crews are set to remain on site for several says and the public has been urged to stay away.
The building contains approximately 13,000 tonnes of commercial waste, which is still burning.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Firefighting operations continue at this large building fire containing approximately 13,000 tonnes of commercial waste.
“The seat of fire is beneath large quantities of compact commercial waste and pockets of fire can continue to smoulder deep within the piles for a long time.
“As a result, the fire continues to produce a smoke plume and residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed if they can smell smoke.
“Several road closures are in place including Europa Way and access to the industrial park is limited. With emergency operations expected to continue for several days members of the public can assist by staying away from the area. This is for their own safety and to avoid hampering emergency operations.
“We continue to work with Lancaster City Council, the Environment Agency, Lancashire Police and Lancashire County Council to bring this incident to a safe conclusion as quickly as possible and keep disruption to local residents and business to a minimum.”
A spokesperson for the drone service said: “Drone team currently assisting at a 10 pump fire in a derelict mill in Lancaster. Incident is causing a large smoke plume in the area.
“[Drones are used to check] the internal fire situation, using HD and thermal [camera]. A check will be conducted daily to monitor changes.”
