An East Lancashire creative hub is to host a free Christmas event on Wednesday December 6.

Accrington's Haworth Art Gallery will be open to visitors from 4pm to 8pm for its festive 'Open Evening'.

They can join the gallery's artists for shopping, Christmas refreshments, and much more.

Residents will have the opportunity to talk with the artists based at the studios themselves, learning more about their individual crafts and practices whilst viewing the wide variety of art, crafts and unique gifts on display.

Gillian Berry, arts and heritage manager at Haworth Art Gallery, said: “There is so much creativity and talent being housed in the walls of the Studios at Haworth Art Gallery, and it is a real pleasure to see all their hard work being displayed for the public.

"This event is the perfect chance for you to learn more about the artists behind the work and the community that capture so much of the beauty in Hyndburn through their various mediums.

“Even more so, this is a great event to consider shopping local when thinking about gift-giving this season.

"A purchase with a small seller like the artists at the Studios means so much more than just buying something from a big brand and gives you as the buyer the chance to buy something with a personal, loving touch in every product.”

The gallery will also be open for guests to browse the wonderful heritage of the former Stables and Motor House buildings.
