The eagerly anticipated opening of The Ribblesdale Tap took place over the weekend in Blackburn town centre.

The Blackedge Brewery’s new tap room opened in across from King George's Hall in the newly developed £50 million Cultural Quarter.

The Ribblesdale Tap boasts an impressive selection of multi-award-winning craft beer, featuring seven cask ales, and seven keg and craft ciders.

Visitors can enjoy live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights featuring performances at The Firepit Tipis.

The location of The Ribblesdale Tap holds historical significance, having previously housed the Ribblesdale Hotel, Gladstone’s, and Baroque Bar.

The brewery has refurbished the site, making it Blackedge Brewery Company's third taproom, with other sites in Horwich and Westhoughton.

The team expressed their enthusiasm in a statement released last month, stating they were "super excited" to welcome customers to the new venue.

Customers shared their excitement on social media over the opening with one person writing: “Good luck, it’s just what the town centre needs. This will hopefully a revival of the night life of Blackburn. It was epic in the 90s and 00s.”

Many people echoed that the opening is “just what Blackburn needs”. One person said: "This is great for the town centre, can't wait to visit."

The Ribblesdale Tap is open 3pm to 10.30pm Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12pm to 11pm Fridays and Saturdays and 12pm to 9pm on Sunday.
