An award-winning mental health charity is hosting a free community event at Blackburn Market.

Arts 2 Heal offers therapeutic art interventions for people to navigate mental health challenges.

The charity’s founder, Banu Adam: “We're thrilled to organise the 'People's Positivity Puzzle' to connect the local community in a creative, enjoyable way.

"It blends artwork with a crossword challenge and is part of our project 'Creativity Connects’, which is generously funded by the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust.

“The public is invited to complete a positivity-themed crossword puzzle available on our website www.arts2heal.org and our social media @arts2heal.

"They can bring their completed puzzles to the event for entry into our free prize draw. Simultaneously, at the event, Arts 2 Heal members will create an artistic representation of the puzzle, displayed in the market for public engagement.

“Our goal is to spread joy, share positivity, and connect with our local community."

A smartwatch worth £60, donated by Chris Shan Jewellers can also be won.

There will be live music by guitarist Danny Helm and the Arts 2 Heal Ukulele group and complimentary refreshments.

Organisers would like thank  contributions from local businesses and individuals including Asda, Morrisons, and Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Octagon Candles, Nigel’s Cutting Shop, Boots, Checks and Greys, and Scott's Fruit and Vegetables."

'People's Positivity Puzzle' at Blackburn Market takes place on Saturday on December 9, from 12 pm to 2 pm.
