There is ‘horrendous’ traffic building after a crash in Blackburn.
Police were at the scene of another crash in East Lancashire this morning (November 30), following an incident on Bolton Road near Ewood Service Station.
Officers were called at 8.02am after two cars were involved in a crash. One person suffered a minor injury.
The road was closed at Branch Road and traffic is backed up to junction 4 of the M65.
Emergency services at the scene are urging drivers to avoid the area while they deal with the incident.
Motorists near the scene have described the scene as ‘complete chaos’ due to ‘horrendous traffic.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Officers are on scene and dealing with a road traffic collision on Bolton Road, Blackburn near Ewood Service Station.
“The road has been closed at Branch Road and there is traffic backed up to J4 M65.
“Please plan your route accordingly to avoid the area.”
Traffic updates website INRIX states: “Delays of five minutes and delays increasing on M65 Eastbound between J3 A674 Chorley Road (Blackburn West / Wheelton) and J4 A666 Earcroft Way (Darwen / Blackburn South). Average speed 20 mph.”
