A Blackburn surgery is celebrating after winning a healthcare award and reaching the finals at two other ceremonies.
The Shifa Surgery, based in Bastwell serves around 11,000 patients in the town.
Sumayya Mayat was named Practice Manager of the year at the PMA Awards 2023.
Dr Tanveer Ahmed was also shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement award and Ms Eve Frost was a finalist in the Outstanding Contribution to General Practice award.
The PMA Awards celebrate excellence in management across all areas of the healthcare sector.
The surgery has also been shortlisted for the Organisational Agility Award at the Institute of Leadership Awards 2023, and two further honours General Practice Awards – the GP Trainee of the Year and General Practice Team of the year.
The clinical lead of the practice, Dr Tanveer Ahmed, works alongside a team of doctors and nurses to support patients across the borough.
Dr Ahmed said: "We as a team at Shifa surgery are really proud of the service we provide to our patients. We believe that working as a team and respecting everyone, including patients is the key to our success."
The surgery’s recent accolades came on the back of success at the Royal College of General Practice Awards in 2022, when it won the Research Practice of the Year Award.
