Fire crews rushed to a blaze in a quiet residential street in Darwen this afternoon.
At around 3.10pm today (November 20), three fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen, police and an ambulance were called to Astbury Chase in Darwen.
The fire broke out on the roof of the house and firefighters used breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the blaze.
Crews are still at the scene of the incident and two people have suffered with smoke inhalation.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 3.12pm on November 20, three fire engines from Darwen and Blackburn attended an incident on Astbury Chase, Darwen.
“The fire involved the roof space of a domestic property. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Crews remain in attendance.”
The fire service added: "An investigation is underway to determine the cause so at this point we cannot disclose any further information."
