A road closure is currently in place due to a loose horse on the carriageway.
Police have closed the A56 southbound and the exit slip road towards Huncoat because of the incident.
Drivers are being warned to avoid the area and plan alternative routes.
A police spokesperson said: "We are currently at the scene of a road closure on the A56 southbound near to the exit slip to Huncoat.
"Lane one and the exit slip to Huncoat has been closed due to a loose horse.
"Please find alternative routes and avoid the area if possible."
