Blackburn Ice Arena set for Status Quo in 1994
This great photo shows Blackburn Ice Arena being transformed into a rock venue.
Taken in November 1994, it shows the stage which was built for a concert by rock band Status Quo. The sound and lighting desk has been place in the centre of the arena.
The concert, part of the band’s Thirsty Work tour proved to be the only live music event ever held at the arena although both the WCW and WWF held wrestling shows there.
The setlist from the show reveals the band played some of their biggest hits including Down Down, Whatever You Want and Caroline.
