Part of a house in Accrington has collapsed after strong winds brought chaos to parts of Lancashire.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service attended the property, in Empress Street at 2.38pm today where a wall of a property under construction had collapsed. Road closures around Hyndburn Street and Empress St were in place and people were asked to avoid the area.
A council building inspector was called to check the site.
A Lancashire Fire and Recue Service spokesperson said: "One fire engine from Hyndburn and the ariel ladder platform attended an incident on Empress Street, Accrington.
"The incident involved a collapsed wall of a domestic property under construction. Firefighters assisted in removing the debris and making the scene secure, Crews were engaged for ten minutes."
Weather warnings have been issued for large parts of the UK, as Storm Debi swept in before reaching northern England and parts of Wales on Monday, with the potential for 80mph gusts in some areas, according to the Met Office.
