A festive charity concert of music will return to Blackburn Cathedral next month.

NSPCC Carols By Candlelight will return for the first time in 10 years to the beautiful surroundings of Blackburn Cathedral to celebrate this festive season, on Wednesday, December 6.

A representative from Rawtenstall District NSPCC said: "We want to answer every call to our Childline service, reach every child who needs us, and keep adapting to whatever challenges this year throws at us.

"We’re constantly inspired by the courage and resilience of children and young people.

"By joining us for Carols By Candlelight in Blackburn on December 6 you can help us be here for more children.

"The evening will be finished with a bucket collection in aid of the NSPCC if you can bring something for this that would be brilliant, we will have contactless payment on the night as well but real money is easier to collect quickly."

Lancashire Telegraph: Carol Concert at the Cathedral will feature BBC Radio Lancashire DJ Graham Liver, with music from Connected Voices, Local Vocals, St Andrews Primary School and the 2nd Rossendale Scout Band.

Lancaster-born Graham, who presents BBC Radio Lancashire’s breakfast show, will compere the carol concert.

Free programmes are available on the night and guests are asked to share one per family or one between two.

Christmas Tree Stars will be sold to hang on your tree, for a donation of £2, but if you buy 2 it is £3.

Candles will also be available, including drip trays for a donation.

Knitting groups have been crafting beautiful handmade Christmas creations with chocolate inside for £5 donation.

Cathedral doors open at 6.45pm, with the performance starting at 7pm and finishing at approximately 8.30pm.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and children go free.

Tickets are non refundable.
