We know that Looking Back readers love a photo of a ‘lost’ East Lancashire pub.

This picture shows the Alexander Hotel in Burnley in 1993 when it was featured in a dining out feature at the time.

The pub/restaurant was in Tarleton Avenue and would later become an American-style diner before closing around 2011/12.

Plans were submitted for it to become a home for youngsters with emotional and psychological problems but protests from residents backed by local councillors led to those plans being shelved and the property was sold at auction in 2012 for £120,000.
