Valuable tools, including a cement mixer and a drill, were stolen from a unit in Sawley.
Police are appealing for information after thieve/s used a reciprocating saw to cut heavy duty locks off the unit and make off with the tools.
This happened Between 4pm on November 8, and 8am on November 9.
A cement mixer, Makita drill and a Makita angle grinder were taken.
Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch with police.
A police spokesperson said: “Between 4pm on November 8, and 8am on November 9, offender/s have broken into an outdoor unit at Sawley Abbey and stolen various tools including a cement mixer, Makita drill and a Makita angle grinder.
“Offender/s are believed to have used a [saw] to cut the heavy duty locks off the unit, which will no doubt have made a loud noise during use.
“If you have CCTV within the area or saw or heard anything suspicious call 101 and quote log: LC-20231109-0221
“Please be vigilant and if any doubt of suspicious activity, then please do report it via 101 non-emergency or 999 in an emergency. We would rather attend calls with good intent, than miss an opportunity to catch offenders.”
