A wedding singer from Preston has come home with a prize at The Nation’s Wedding Awards 2023.

Jessica Helen won the award for best wedding entertainment of the year.

Jessica said she is proud of her win, especially as she has faced “knockbacks” about her appearance and singing throughout the years.

Jessica said: “It was the first national award I have ever won so I was very shocked. I just went to have a nice night.

“My dad had a hip operation two days before so was unable to attend so FaceTiming him to show them I had won was very emotional and made his day.

“I’m planning my own wedding so I know how big everyone’s roles are in a wedding. I’m from a small village and never dreamed I’d be winning awards for singing.

“I have had knockbacks throughout my singing career so it’s a huge achievement to be recognised for what I do.”
