A fire safety firm that specialises in fire detection systems has donated and fitted more than £6,000 worth of equipment for a charity that supports autistic families.

I AM Autism, based in Manchester, was desperate to upgrade its outdated and limited fire detection security system to enhance building safety for its members and reduce the time spent on fire system testing and operation.

And thanks to bosses at Rossendale’s Commercial Fire Systems Ltd, who stepped-in to ramp up security at I AM’s Stretford Resource Centre, they were able to undergo a complete refit.

The business worked with I AM to donate and install a state-of-the-art alarm system to ensure that safety and security were optimised for members and staff.

Neil Holroyd, director of Commercial Fire Systems Ltd, said: "My colleague introduced me to the charity, and I was struck by the work they do supporting autistic individuals and their families.

“Having 30 years of experience in the business, I knew I was able to help, and I was only too willing to.

"We were pleased to be able to donate and install a new fire detection system at the I AM Resource Centre, enhancing the safety of members and staff."

Helen Boden, chief executive of I AM, added: “We are so grateful to Neil and his team and the generosity they have shown us.

"It would have cost us over £6,000 to replace our system, and for Neil to contact us and offer to help us, we cannot thank him enough.”
