Motorbikes have been seized after reports of off-road vehicle nuisance in the Plunginton area of Preston.

Two motorbikes were seized in the Ripon Street area, as part of the force’s crack down on motorbike nuisance in the area.

Residents have been urged to report the illegal and nuisance use of off-road motorbikes, mopeds, scrambler bikes and quad bikes.

A police spokesperson said: “I am aware there have been concerns regarding motorbike nuisance in the Plungington area.

 “I am happy to say that due to information from residents in the area we have been able to seize two motorbikes from the Ripon Street area of Plungington. In seizing these bikes we are stopping motorbike nuisance in the area.

 “Please report the illegal and nuisance use of off-road motorbikes, mopeds, scrambler bikes and quad bikes. We are committed to clamping down on this issue that is causing distress and annoyance to a huge portion of our community.

“Operation centurion is a county-wide crackdown on anti-social behaviour, led by Lancashire Constabulary and backed by Police and Crime Commissioner Andrew Snowden, delivering his fighting crime plan priority of getting tough on anti-social behaviour, with the support of our partners.
