Organisers of a free festival are urging residents to create their own snowman and join in.

The creations will go on display in Coppull, Chorley from Friday, November 24 and people will be able to visit them by following an interactive map.

People can decorate their window with a snowman, create a great big outdoor display, inflate one, draw one or put one in their garden.

Mary Russell who is helping to plan the event said: “The is about having fun as families and a community coming together.

“We have asked residents and businesses to create a snowman from anything from milk bottles, boxes, exercise balls, pallets.

"People can display in their front gardens or windows and it can be as simple as a shop bought snowman ornament, up to anything their imagination allows.”

She added: “The form asks you for your house number, street name and postcode. We won't share this information with anyone but will use it to place a dot on the map. This will enable visitors to find displays easily.

“Where there's a group of dots, there will be a few displays, so this is a great time to get your neighbours involved.

“You only need to submit the form once.”
