A takeaway in Stubbins has won a prestigious food award for the third year in a row.

Stubbins Tandoori on North Road has won a Good Food Award for the past two years under the takeaways category and was bestowed with a "Blue Ribbon" for its high customer ratings.

The awards recognise hard-working teams who strive for excellence in their field and winning entrants are chosen for food quality service and value.

And this year, they have received a Good Food Award with a "Gold Seal".

It is the highest accolade that the Good Food Award issues and can only be attained by Good Food Award holders who have attained the award status for three consecutive years or more.

Manager Ashraful Amin Chowdhury said: “Since being open in 2007, the community has shown us a warm welcome.

“We appreciate all the custom from people Ramsbottom and our customers who come from far and wide to try our food.

“Winning the award three years running had landed us the Gold Seal of approval, and me and the team are extremely proud of the work we are doing, and this motivates us to push harder for more awards.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for us!”

The Good Food Awards was established in 2002 and allows establishments to put themselves forward while customers are encouraged to vote for their favourites.

Eateries can be nominated across five categories, one for takeaways, cafés, gastropubs, fish and chips and fine dining.
