A hospital charity has launched a new ‘Give a Gift’ appeal ahead of the festive season.

ELHT&Me, the official charity of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust wants to encourage
people to come together and share the magic of Christmas by donating a gift to a patient spending time in hospital.

Supporters can make a donation directly to the JustGiving appeal and then the charity will purchase a gift using the funds.

The charity has joined Dunelm’s 'Delivering Joy' campaign and have tags on the tree in the Blackburn store. You can visit the store, take a tag from the tree, go shopping for the gift described and deliver it back to the Dunelm store by the date stated on the tag.

Alternatively you can browse the Amazon wish list and select a gift and have it delivered straight to the charity hub at the main entrance of Royal Blackburn to be securely stored.

The charity said every gift, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. Whether it’s a blanket, a good book or a small game such as dominoes or a pack of playing cards.

Head of charity at ELHT&Me, Denise Gee, said: “It’s about spreading love, hope and compassion. Please help us bring the magic of Christmas this year.”
