The police has issued a warning after a spate of attempted burglaries in Rishton.

These took place on Monday, October 23, between 2.30am and 4.30am.

A person approached multiple homes on Edwards Street, Station Close and Petre Crescent, during hours of darkness, where they have attempted to gain entry.

Police have also been made aware of suspicious activity around vehicles in Rishton on Sunday, October 22, particularly around Stourton Street at 11.30pm.

Officers are now asking for witnesses, CCTV or Ring Doorbell footage which may help the investigation.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “We have been made aware of attempt burglaries that have occurred in Rishton on Monday, October 23, between the hours of 2.30am and 4:30am.

“An unknown offender has approached multiple houses around Edward Street, Station Close and Petre Crescent during hours of darkness where they have attempted to gaining entry.

“We are currently appealing for any witnesses, CCTV footage or Ring Doorbell footage which may assist with our investigation. If you have any information regarding these incidents, please contact us on 101 quoting log reference LC-20231023-1198.

“In addition to this, we have been made aware of suspicious activity around vehicles in Rishton on Sunday, October 22, particularly around Stourton Street at 11.30pm.

“If you have any information regarding this, please contact us via 101 quoting log reference LC-20231025-0415.

“We would also like to urge all residents to ensure their vehicles and premises are locked and secure.”
