We have become used to bands holding concerts in football stadia but this photo records a different era when you could find a chart topping act providing the half time entertainment.
Taken in January 1965 it shows Blackburn band The Four Pennies on the pitch at Ewood Park, performing at half time during Rovers game against Aston Villa in the old first division.
The band were fronted by Lionel Morton and the previous year had achieved a number one single with Juliet. They clearly inspired the home team who ran out 5-1 winners with John Byrom scoring a hat-trick.
In the background you can see the old Riverside stand which had seating in the top tier and standing below.
