Officers were called to Roe Lee Park in Blackburn just before 5pm yesterday (October 16), after residents claimed men were “running round with machetes”.
Pictures from the scene taken by Shad Chefs show two police cars and a police helicopter flying over the area as an urgent search was carried out.
Police said no one was found and no injuries or arrests have been reported.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We had a report of some men armed with machetes, but we carried out a search and no-one was found.”
