Finch Bakery is set to open a pop-up stall in Accrington, bringing their famous bakes and sweet treats to a Christmas light switch-on event.

Originating in Great Harwood, the Finch Bakery team have been running successful pop ups in Liverpool and Manchester, as well as finding time to write two Sunday Times best-selling recipe books.

Owners Lauren Sinclair and Rachel Finch are delighted to confirm that they will be leading the way for independent retailers, by hosting a pop-up stall in Accrington Market Hall for the annual  lights switch-on event, on Thursday,  November 23.

Organisers Amazing Accrington, along with Accrington Market are inviting local producers, charities, and community groups to book stalls for the biggest and best Christmas Market that Accrington has ever seen, as part of the switch-on event.

With activities planned for inside the Market Hall as well as in town square, they are expecting plenty of footfall at the event, headlined this year by Junior Andre.

Stalls are available for £20 inside Accrington Market Hall and following on from the success of the 2022 lights switch-on event, Accrington Market are once again offering free stalls outside the market for charities and community groups.

Sameena King, Accrington Market manager, said: "It's the best day of the year for me with all our independents open for Christmas shopping and so good to see the market full. Amazing Accrington always look after the traders and make sure attractions are on, plus it's well promoted so everyone knows it's on.

"We love having the Finch team in, it creates a massive buzz plus Amazing Accrington have the bucking reindeer out to have a try on. We can't wait to see some Councillors giving it a go, with a prize for the longest ride for both adults and children!"

Murray Dawson, chair of Amazing Accrington, said: "Thousands of people attend our annual event, and it's events like these which allow us to showcase the quality of our Market Hall and #ShopLocal independents to those who don't often visit the town, which is something we see on the night.

"If you are thinking of getting a stall, we would recommend contacting Sameena and the market team as soon as possible, as stalls are selling fast for this one."

Marlene Howarth, leader of Hyndburn Council, said: "Accrington Market is going to be transformed into a buzzing Christmas Market and we can't wait to welcome you all to see it and celebrate all the amazing businesses, charities, and community groups in Hyndburn.

"With young superstar Junior Andre live on stage, this really is going to be a spectacular family event."
