THE caption on the back of this photo rather unhelpfully just states it is of a Darwen church taken in 1953.
But we think that the impressive-looking place of worship may well have been the United Reformed Church on Duckworth Street.
Built in 1853, the church was demolished in 1995. With its ornate entrance and stained glass windows, it must have been an imposing sight.
