The chef at a Ribble Valley gastropub spoke of her delight at being crowned ‘Dining Pub of the Year’.

The Parkers Arms in Newton-in-Bowland scooped the award at the 2023 Lancashire Life Food & Drink Awards.

The awards has 12 categories to recognise the very best in the county’s cuisine, honouring the finest restaurants, pubs and tearooms, the people and venues that make Lancashire such a great place to eat and drink.

Chef-patron Stosie Madi said: “Winning Lancashire dining pub of the year is very special. Everything we do is to celebrate Lancashire, its produce and it's beauty.

“This is a home award and makes it all even more worthwhile so thank you to all that voted and to Lancashire Life from all of us at Parkers.”

The Ribble Valley gastropub is run by chef-patron Stosie and her business partner Kathy Smith and is no stranger to accolades.

Earlier this year, The Parkers Arms placed first in the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs 2023 list making it the first time a pub from Lancashire had won the top prize.

Just a few months later, the pub celebrated after one of their pies, the ‘curried mutton and its offal’ pie, won gold at the British Pie Awards, which also received praise by the Hairy Bikers in 2021.

A post on The Parkers Arms Facebook page said: “Delighted and supremely proud of this home grown award. Lancashire is a great dining region and we know it would have been a difficult choice.

“Thank you to our dear guests for voting for us and thank you to the judges.”
