A service which cares for children and young adults with mental health difficulties has made the final of the Children and Young People Awards.
Associated Wellbeing, which manages The Lighthouse in Darwen, has made the final of the awards for the second year running.
The company was established in 2018 and has provisions across Lancashire and Yorkshire and was nominated by its employees in the Employer of the Year category.
Associated Wellbeing credits this nomination to the hard work and dedication of its staff, with a spokesperson for the company saying: "Our service has been set up to bridge a gap for children in the community struggling with their mental health who may not meet the threshold for hospital but still struggle to cope in the community.
"Our staff are highly trained to support these children who have found themselves in this situation and work with passion and kindness to make the days of our children more bearable. It's amazing to be a finalist for this award but what's even better is that we were nominated by our staff."
Earlier this year Associated Wellbeing received a 'good' inspection from the CQC in every area including 'safe' and 'well led'.
At the time bosses at the service said: "The staff have worked so hard to achieve this and we are extremely proud of the team.
"We have also opened a step-down service so we can continue to care for our children and young people after the age of 18 years which is often where children struggle once discharged from children's services."
The Children and Young People Awards are held at the end of October and Associated Wellbeing is up against other amazing services from around the United Kingdom.
The spokesperson added: "Let's hope that we bring this prestigious award back to Lancashire."
