Burnley, 1970
This unusually eerie shot of Burnley town centre was taken in February 1970 and records the progress being made on the town’s new shopping entre and market development.
You can see the concrete and steel skeleton of the new buildings taking shape with one of the giant cranes used to lift some of the larger piece into place.
