A small tech company from East Lancashire is to attend the world’s largest education technology exhibition next year.

Jam Coding was founded in Blackburn in 2014 but it was during the pandemic that the company decided to become a franchise and offer its services on a national basis.

As children and teachers were being sent to learn and teach from home, which highlighted the need for sound computing skills, Jam Coding began actively reaching out to schools, parents, and communities to promote its services.

Fast forward to today and Jam Coding has more than 30 franchises across the UK and reaches more than 10,000 young people a week, and employs more than 300 trained Code Coaches nationally.

The company’s growth in such a short time is highlighted in its latest product and service for primary schools.

Their Bespoke Curriculum, which was released in April 2023, is a unique solution for the market to help teachers to deliver computing lessons that are more complex, engaging and fun for young people whilst making the delivery of the sessions easier from a teaching perspective.

The early appetite for this product has been incredible, the firm said, and so now the company is embarking on the next stage of its growth by attending the world’s largest education technology exhibition – The BETT Show.

Taking place from January 24 to 26, 2023, the exhibition is attended by education leaders from across the UK and beyond.

Roger Grogan, chief executive of Jam Coding, said: “It is incredible to see the demand for our products and services continue to thrive.

“The Bespoke Curriculum is capable of revolutionising computing education in the UK and we can’t wait to meet people at BETT who are as passionate about the subject as we are - after all, it’s the future.
