A TikTok star, with two million followers, has joined forces with Burnley FC’s foodbank charity to raise funds and awareness for his campaign.

Max McCann, who has best known for teaching others how to make healthy meals on a budget, is collaborating with Burnley FC in the Community Foodbank and Burnley FC.

Max contacted numerous football clubs across the country to help his campaign but Burnley was the only one to respond.

The aim of the campaign is to gather the most food donations in a single day, right at the heart of the football stadium.

On Saturday, November 18, the community will be invited to Turf Moor to help fill the fan zone with donations.

The goal is to make this the largest food donation event in the country, packed with exciting family activities.

Foodbank manager, Nathan Norris, said: “A few weeks ago, Max reached out to us with an idea for a UK tour involving visits to football clubs.

"Max had contacted numerous football clubs across the country, but we were the only ones to respond, and we’re incredibly grateful we did!

“We rely heavily on donations, and unfortunately, we’ve seen a significant drop in recent months. This is largely attributed to rising costs; even we feel the strain of increased prices.

“The overall cost of goods has skyrocketed, and if food banks struggle to purchase essential items, the general public will undoubtedly face similar challenges.

“With Max’s support and this fantastic event, we aim to collect more than 25,550 food items in one day which will significantly boost the level of assistance we can provide to those in need!

“We are really looking forward to the future and the things we can achieve when working with Max and are incredibly grateful for his support.”

After spending 10 hours on the road last week to visit the foodbank and Turf Moor, Max said :“I was truly inspired by the incredible work that the Burnley FC in the Community Foodbank does, it extends far beyond just being a food bank.

“They are a lifeline for their local community, especially those facing food insecurity and hardship.

“I’m thrilled to announce my partnership with Burnley in the Community and Burnley FC, it is going to be an unforgettable event!”.
