The large cast iron columns are a clue to what once was on this site.
Taken in 1984, the photo shows the remains of a railway bridge for a line which ran to and from Accrington station.
The line ran over a lodge originally used by Howard and Bullough, later Platt Saco Lowell.
To get your bearings, you are looking back into Accrington from the Woodnook area.
Top left is what is now the Globe Centre and on the skyline you can see the spire of Cannon Street Baptist church with Accrington Conservative Club to the left.
