FORMER Coronation Street favourite Catherine Tyldesley is to make her musical theatre debut when she stars in Bonnie & Clyde The Musical which comes to Manchester next year.

Catherine - who also took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 - will play Blanche Barrow in the show which was the winner of the Best New Musical prize at this year’s WhatsOn Stage Awards following a successful run in the West End.

The show will also feature a second musical theatre debutant - EastEnders’ Danny Hatchard who play Clyde Barrow. Danny played Lee Carter in the TV soap. He has also appeared n the TV dramas Our Girl and Ridley Road.

After wowing audiences in the West End and on an international tour of Bat Out of Hell, Katie Tonkinson will play Bonnie Parker.

Bonnie & Clyde The Musical is the story of two small-town kids from the middle of nowhere who became the biggest folk heroes in all America after embarking on a crime spree that captured the attention of a nation.

The cast also includes Sam Ferriday, who has appeared in hit musicals such as Heathers, The Cher Show and Jersey Boys will play the role of Marvin “Buck” Barrow. R&B and Soul singer-songwriter Jaz Ellington, who has appeared on The Voice UK and Eurovision: You Decide, will play the role of The Preacher.

Bonnie & Clyde the Musical is at Manchester’s Palace Theatre from Tuesday, May 7 to Saturday, May 11. Details from www.atgtickets.com.

The show is also at Blackpool Winter Gardens from Tuesday, June 25 to Saturday, June 29 when Hollyoaks’ star Daisy Wood-Davis will take on the role of Blanche. Details from www.wintergardensblackpool.co.uk
