Two drug raids were carried out across an East Lancashire town this morning.

The raids both took place in Bacup on Friday September 15 after police say they received information from the nearby community about potential drug dealing.

Officers say that they seized drugs and made an arrest.

A Rossendale Police spokesperson said: “This morning we have executed two warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 at separate addresses in Bacup.

“A quantity of drugs have been seized and one person is pending interview for the offences.

“These warrants are the result of information received from the community, no one should tolerate drug dealing on their street and their community.”

This comes amid long running concerns about drug crime across East Lancashire in recent times with arrests and other drug raids having been reported at various locations across the region.

Officers have appealed for anyone with any information or concerns to get in touch with them by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.

Alternatively, witnesses can contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
