A hit quiz show presented by a Blackburn-raised comedian was successful at last night's National Television Awards.

The 1% Club, fronted by Blackburn Rovers fan Lee Mack, won best Quiz Game Show at the NTAs, and he collected the award on behalf of the show.

The show beat Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel, Richard Osman’s House Of Games and The Chase Celebrity Special to claim the publicly-voted prize.

A number of stars from East Lancashire were nominated for an NTA for their work in entertainment, and winners were announced at the ceremony hosted by Joel Dommett at The O2 in London.

Comedy series Brassic, starring Michelle Keegan and filmed at a number of locations across East Lancashire, was nominated for best comedy, but lost out to Young Sheldon.

Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt, who was educated at Accrington and Rossendale College, was also nominated for best soap performance, but lost out.
