Search the Public Notice PortalPermission has been granted for the construction of a care home which will include stunning countryside views, a cinema, library, and hairdressers in an East Lancashire village.
Leeds-based LNT Care Developments secured permission from Ribble Valley Borough Council for the construction of the home in Old Row, Whalley Road, Barrow, on August 31.
The plot of land where the care home will be constructed is wedged between Barrow Primary School to the north, existing homes in Whalley Road to the west, and Washbrook Close and a retail park to the south.
The council approved plans for the 66-bed home with a number of conditions, particularly in relation to a flood risk assessment being carried out and the need for mroe details relating to drainage around the site.
The facility will care for local people, or those with local connections, and provide general care and dementia care.
The two-storey building will also be eco-friendly, with plans for solar panels to be installed on the roof.

A design and access statement said: “The proposed development is intended to be delivered and ready for occupation within 16 months of any planning permission being granted.
“The layout provides a central hub, that is easily accessible from all areas of the care home.
“The building is positioned to allow communal areas to maximise the views of the surrounding landscape, whilst benefiting from good privacy and amenity.

“The care home will benefit from high-quality landscaping at the front and rear of the development, providing an attractive setting surrounding the development.”
There will be communal spaces including cafes, dining rooms, quiet lounges and family rooms, a library, a garden room, a cinema and hairdressers.
There will also be 25 parking spaces, including three accessible bays and six electric vehicle charging point bays, eight cycle spaces, and an ambulance and taxi drop off area.
Ribble Valley Borough Council approved the plans by LNT, which has developed more than 150 care homes specifically for the care of older people across the country since 2005.
The plans also include the demolition of two houses and the former La Taverna restaurant - which has been derelict for at least eight years - at the entrance to the site, and replacing them with three new houses.
