Four people were rushed to hospital after a house fire in Bacup this weekend.

At around 7.45am yesterday (September 3), fire crews rushed to Pennine Road, Bacup after a fire broke out at a home.

The fire involved a terraced house consisting of two floors and approximately 15 by 15 metres. Fire crews were at the scene for five hours.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and an investigation has been launched.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “The fire involved a terraced property. Fire crews used two hose reels and four breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

“Fire crews were in attendance approximately five hours.

“I can confirm there were four casualties who were all taken into the care of North West Ambulance Service.”
