Mercer’s in Blackburn
This picture is virtually guaranteed to get anyone who grew up in Blackburn over the years to get a little nostalgic about their childhood.
Established in the town in 1840,Mercer’s was one of the best-known retailers in the area and its toy department was a mecca for youngsters for generations.
A trip to Mercer’s had the promise of something new to play with from the latest games to toy, cars and dolls.
