Residents are being asked to take part in a survey to help determine the future of Oswaldtwistle Civic Centre and Theatre.

Hyndburn Borough Council have stated they ‘understand the impact the recent liquidation of Hyndburn Arts LTD, operators of Civic Centre, has had on the local community’ and they now want to hear residents’ thoughts.

A spokesperson said: “This historic building is a cherished part of local heritage and culture.

“Feedback from the community will help determine the future purpose of the building.

“We want to hear from you.”

Residents are asked to share what activity they have enjoyed in previous years that should continue, or innovative ideas for new uses in the future.

According to the council, more than 400 people have completed the survey and ‘currently most people would like to see the building remain as a centre for culture / arts in the future, with lots of ideas shared for new offers being created alongside - such as a cafe/restaurant’.

The survey is anonymous and can be completed here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/OssyCivicCentre
