Darwen Artisan Market made its debut last weekend - and organisers say it was a resounding success.

The event, curated by event management company Crafty Vintage, showcases the talents of local makers, creators and start-ups in a celebration of community spirit and innovation.

Laura E Johnson, co-founder of Crafty Vintage, the organisers of Darwen Artisan Market, said: "The Darwen Artisan Market isn't just a market; it's a celebration of our local economy and culture.

"Our community's commitment to shopping local not only supports the livelihoods of our talented artisans but also contributes to the town's economic growth. It's a win-win that adds layers of charm to every booth and corner.

"Crafty Vintage has always believed in the power of the circular economy, and the Darwen Artisan Market embodies this philosophy. It's not just about transactions; it's about creating a sustainable cycle of creativity and commerce. Each purchase not only acquires a unique treasure but also fosters a cycle of reinvestment in our community."

Set against the backdrop of the recently refurbished Darwen Town Square, the market unfolded beneath elegant gazebos that sheltered an array of handcrafted treasures.

Each booth offered unique items, from beautifully handmade jewellery to fashion pieces that blended style and sustainability.

The square came 'alive' with vibrant artworks that reflected the diversity of local artists and home decor pieces.

A testament to the event's popularity was the impressive footfall that surged through Darwen Town Square throughout the day. Families, art enthusiasts, and curious visitors alike flocked to the square to be part of this celebration of creativity.

Darwen Town Council brought the community together through funding circus skills workshops, which were immensely popular.

The next Darwen Artisan Market will be on Saturday, September 9.
