A teenager from Blackburn is in the running to be named Miss Junior Teen Great Britain, after reaching the semi-finals of the competition.
Arianna Sulimen has beaten competitors from across Britain to reach the next stage of thepageant.
Arianna, who attended Westholme School until the age of seven but is now home schooled, wants to reach the grand final of the competition where she aims to win the crown and cash prize.
The 14-year-old found out about the competition through her work with Together For Short Lives, a children’s charity Miss Teen Great Britain has raised funds for in the past.
Her mum, Hennah Sulimen, said: “Arianna has fundraised for charity since a young age.
“She wanted to get involved with a young children’s charity and came across Together for Short Lives.
“Arianna was emotionally touched by the wonderful [work the charity did].
“The charity enabled her to give back to her local community and also make a massive difference to young children.
“[Through the charity she discovered] Miss Teen Great Britain and with my consent applied for this and was extremely excited to be involved in such a good cause."
Arianna discovered she had been confirmed as a semi-finalist for Miss Junior Teen Great Britain on June 27 and is waiting to hear if she is a finalist.
Hennah said: “Arianna has always dreamed of winning a ‘pageant girl’ competition and to be able to fundraise for a cause close to her heart.
“She wants to make a difference to children’s lives and become a role model for young ladies in the community.
“She is extremely proud to represent her own community in Blackburn.
“I hope the community[ can help us] raise funds for ‘Together for Short Lives’ generously, in support of their beautiful cause."
Arianna added: “I am so excited to have made it to the semi-final, it is a great achievement.
“Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true. Fingers crossed I will be able to represent my home town and win the crown!”
The finals of Miss Teen Great Britain will be held in October 2023 in Blackpool.
