A new Chocoberry cafe has opened in the heart of Blackburn, creating several job opportunities for the community.
The 38-seater dessert parlour is located within a newly renovated building on Whalley Range in Blackburn.
The former training centre at Brookhouse Business Centre is unrecognisable following major renovations to both the interior and exterior. It features an elegant yet casual seating area with booths.
Chocoberry has 10 UK stores, including Leicester and Bolton and is known for its luxury desserts, including waffles, crepes and cakes.
Director of the Blackburn Chocoberry, Mahmood Mota said the opening had been a challenge but his team are delighted to be finally serving eager diners.
He said: “There was an opportunity to open here and we thought it would be good to launch in the heart of the community.
“Blackburn is certainly going places with a lot of new restaurants and brands coming to the town.
“As you can see this is a central spot on a busy stretch where there are a number of eateries around here."
He added: “This was a big renovation initially as it was one building and we put a lot of work into it.
“We started the work here back in September and it has taken some time but we persevered to make sure the final look was what we had in mind.
“This is now one of the biggest Chocoberry’s in the country.
“It was not just about the design, we have also made a genuine effort to make it more eco-friendly with smart systems in place to reduce energy usage. We are working on paper wastage among other things.”
The menu features their own signature desserts such as the ‘Choco puffs’, ‘Waffle bites’ and dipped strawberries.
Mahmood said: “It has been a good first few weeks for us and it is great to see the people of Blackburn and the surrounding areas coming to the store and enjoying themselves."
Mahmood said his vision is to also work with the community to host local events
He said: “I always think it is great to have small events for the community and for people to see this as their own space.
The new dessert parlour is based opposite the Mi Chaii and Chaiiwala Asian tea shops on the stretch.
